This bit is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless steel rings. Cuprigan is an alloy consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron, and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material provides a pleasant scent and taste.
The anatomical design follows the natural shape of the horse’s mouth, allowing for gentle and even pressure distribution. The combination of its shape and the unique Cuprigan composition stimulates chewing activity and saliva production, which helps establish a fine connection with the sensitive horse’s mouth.
The upward-facing shanks with rings are slightly angled outward, ensuring optimal freedom for the horse’s head. This bit has a sharp effect on the mouth.
A Pelham bit can be used with Pelham straps and a single rein or with double reins. It is particularly suitable for strong and eager horses.
Due to the lever action, the horse can be set deeper more easily – the longer the shanks, the sharper the effect.
The mouthpiece of a single-jointed snaffle has one hinge point and acts on the tongue, bars, corners of the mouth, and occasionally on the horse’s palate. When a rein aid is given, the bit forms a V-shape. Since this mouthpiece has only one joint, the tongue has more freedom compared to a double-jointed bit.
Comes with a curb chain, delivered in a box.
