integrated hardened steel pins to provide maximum safety of the boot.
The footplate is supported by a double balance arch system that distributes the weight evenly over the base of the stirrup frame. The apex of the frame is recessed and off-set, encouraging a 45º outward, making it easier for the rider to find the optimal angle for the foot and regain a lost stirrup.
An integrated safety arm has a two-stage release system, preventing accidental opening. The spring-loaded safety arm snaps into the base of the main frame, meaning that at maximum pressure, such as when landing over a fence, the rider's weight is evenly distributed across the stirrup, preventing the exterior from sinking and flexing. When pressure is applied to the stirrup arm, such as when the rider falls, the arm releases allowing the foot to come out of the stirrup and preventing the foot from getting stuck. The stirrup arm breakout force = 36N (equivalent to 3.62kg) during testing, meaning there is enough resistance to prevent the stirrup from opening unintentionally, but the stirrup will release safely if the rider falls.
