The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French clutch or rider mouthpiece that is often used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates on the tongue and applies pressure to the tongue, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of squeezing. The barrel in the middle exerts about the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, but the barrel distributes pressure more gently and allows for Independent Side Movement™.

Stainless steel mouthpiece
Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars
Copper inlay

Comments: The mouthpiece is similar to the MB 02, but the middle barrel of the MB 01 is narrower, making the pressure on the middle of the tongue more concentrated than with the MB 02. For more tongue relief, switch to the MB 04.
An eggbutt is a traditional cheek style that keeps the mouthpiece from falling on the tongue and provides a more direct signal than the loose ring. The straight side of an eggbutt does not pull through the mouth and does not pinch. For a more versatile version, see the eggbutt with hooks.
