The water snaffle is a standard bit. This bit has loose rings which allow the bit to move more freely in the mouth, making it well accepted by many horses. To prevent skin from getting between the moving rings and the mouthpiece, it is recommended that the bit be fitted with bit rings. Small rings provide a more direct effect of the aids than larger rings. The smaller the rings, the more pressure is transferred to a smaller area. A fine bit for a slightly stronger horse.
