General Terms and Conditions
Article 1 - Applicability of the General Terms and Conditions
All sales via our webshop or physical store are subject to these general terms and conditions. By placing an order, the customer fully and unconditionally agrees to these terms.
Article 2 - Orders and Quotations
- Orders can be placed through our website or via email. An order is only considered final after confirmation by the seller and payment by the buyer.
- Product descriptions and images on the webshop are as accurate as possible but may differ from reality. Images are not contractually binding and are for illustration purposes only.
- Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified and are subject to product availability.
- By confirming an order, the customer unconditionally accepts all provisions of these general terms and conditions, including prices and product details.
- All contractual data is stored and can be accessed by the customer after logging in with a personal password.
Article 3 - Prices
- Prices on the webshop include VAT and are valid at the time of order placement.
- Shipping costs are calculated separately and clearly stated during the ordering process.
- Promotions or discounts cannot be combined unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Loyalty points cannot be combined with sale items or other discount actions.
Article 4 - Payment
- When placing an order, Ruitersport Maddelin offers various payment options. Payment details are not processed through our website.
- If a quotation or order is not paid within the agreed timeframe, Ruitersport Maddelin reserves the right to charge an administrative fee of €25. This fee will be added to the outstanding amount.
- Ruitersport Maddelin reserves the right to delay or cancel orders if payment is not received on time. This can be done without prior notice.
Article 5 - Delivery and Transport
- Packages are shipped from Belgium on working days (excluding Mondays).
- The customer must report any damage or issues with delivery within 2 working days of receipt.
- Ruitersport Maddelin is not liable for damage or loss during transport. All packages are insured up to a value of €500 (unless otherwise specified).
- If a package is not delivered, the customer must inform us within 14 days of the tracking status being inactive. We will initiate an investigation, which may take several days as we work with external delivery services. We kindly ask for your understanding as this process may take some time.
Article 6 - Returns and Exchanges
- The right of withdrawal only applies to purchases made via the webshop by consumers (non-professional customers). This right does not apply to purchases in the physical store or custom-made products.
- Products purchased via the webshop can be returned within 14 days for exchange or a refund.
- Return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the error lies with Ruitersport Maddelin.
- Returns are only accepted if the products are new, unused, and unworn. After inspection, the amount will be refunded within 5 working days.
- Exclusions from the right of withdrawal:
- Products that are custom-made or personalized, such as bespoke boots.
- Products specially ordered at the customer’s request.
- Items delivered sealed where the seal has been broken.
- Items purchased on sale or as part of promotional actions.
- In the event of an error on our part, we will cover the return shipping costs.

Article 7 - Warranty
- Warranty provisions vary depending on the manufacturer and product. Please inquire about specific warranty conditions.
Article 8 - Riding Boots
- Custom-made boots:
- Size adjustments can be reported up to 1 week after receipt.
- New boots must be collected within 30 days. After this period, the warranty expires, but adjustments can still be made at the customer’s expense.
- Maintenance tips:
- Boots should be regularly treated with appropriate care products.
- For patent leather boots, we recommend using patent leather oil twice a week, even during periods of non-use, to prevent cracking. No warranty is provided for patent leather boots.
- Suede and nubuck boots should be regularly treated with a water-repellent spray to prevent stains.
- Zippers:
- The warranty on zippers is 2 months. Warranty extensions may be possible.
Article 9 - Collection of Goods
- Custom-made products, orders, or repairs must be collected within 6 months of the first contact. After this period, the right to the goods expires without a refund.
