The LeMieux Vector stirrups are a new generation of safety bars - technically advanced and lightweight, but maintaining the classic style one expects from LeMieux
The stirrups are made from aerospace-grade aluminum and offer an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, making them lighter than most other stirrups on the market at just 419 grams each, without compromising stability.
The ergonomic footplate of the Control Stirrup is set to 0º with a cross-track grip surface with integrated hardened steel pins to provide maximum boot safety.
The footplate is supported by a double balance arch system that distributes weight evenly across the base of the stirrup frame. The apex of the frame is recessed and off-set, encouraging a 45º outward, which makes it easier for the rider to find the optimal angle for the foot and recover a lost brace.
An integrated safety arm has a two-stage release system, preventing accidental opening. The spring-loaded safety arm locks into the base of the main frame, meaning that at maximum pressure, such as when landing over a fence, the rider's weight is evenly distributed across the stirrup, preventing the outside from sinking and bending. When pressure is applied to the stirrup arm, such as when the rider falls, the arm releases which allows the foot to come out of the stirrup and prevents the foot from getting stuck. The breakout force of the stirrup arm = 36N (equivalent to 3.62kg) during testing, which means that there is enough resistance to prevent the stirrup from opening unintentionally, but the stirrup will release safely if the rider falls.
