Cavalor Colostra provides newborn foals with the vital colostrum if they did not receive it or did not receive it sufficiently from the mare.
Newborn foals do not yet have antibodies, they must absorb them within 24 hours after birth through colostrum or colostrum.
If, for whatever reason, a foal has received no or very little colostrum, it is vital to compensate for this deficiency. Cavalor Colostra increases the level of immunoglobulins in the blood.
This allows the foal to better defend itself against germs such as viruses and bacteria during the first week of its life. A solid start is essential for healthy growth and development of the foal.
Did you know?
In mammals, including horses, the embryo receives (almost) no antibodies through the placenta during pregnancy. As a result, foals are completely dependent on obtaining antibodies from high-quality colostrum/colostrum during the first hours after birth to build up their immunity.
The absorption of antibodies from colostrum is highest within the first 6 to 8 hours after birth. 24 hours after birth, the foal can no longer absorb antibodies through the colostrum.
In motherless foals, but also foals of mares with little, no or insufficient quality colostrum milk, a deficiency of immunoglobulins can occur. A deficiency of immunoglobulins carries risks of developing infectious diseases, including diarrhoea and other diseases.
Ingredients
Cavalor Colostra contains natural substances (freeze-dried colostrum), which are essential for the healthy growth of the foal. Cavalor Colostra is safe to use in all foals and contains at least 30% immunoglobulins
Instructions for use
Add the contents of 1 pack (100 g) of Cavalor Colostra to 0.2 l of Cavalor Hyppolac or water. Stir the powder well until it is completely dissolved. Provide Cavalor Colostra with a bottle with teat.
Caution: do not heat in the microwave, as this will destroy the immunoglobulins.
If the foal did not receive colostra through the mare: administer Cavalor Colostra within 6 hours after birth and repeat after 12-16 hours.
If the foal did not receive enough colostra from the mare: administer Cavalor Colostra within 24 hours after birth.
